Timed to coincide with the beginning of COP22 in Morocco, the Climate Innovation Summit in Frankfurt on 8 November 2016 will bring together over 300 senior leaders to provide the insights, solutions and contacts that organisations now need to take a leading role in the transition to a zero carbon economy.
The Paris Agreement has united 196 countries in a binding commitment to limit global warming to between 1.5°C – 2°C. This commitment has initiated a science-based trajectory to limit greenhouse gas emissions, now business, government and NGOs need to co-create mitigation and adaptation pathways to achieve those targets, whilst remaining competitive.
Collaboration between business, the public sector and academia is the only way to produce the innovative solutions required to transform how we live, what we consume, and how we do business. From its standpoint as the world’s largest public private partnership; facilitating sustainable innovation, Climate-KIC has convened a cross-section of innovative thinkers, disrupters and global leaders to create an agenda of action.

Boosting Climate Smart Agriculture: Methods and Challenges Translating
Climate Smart Agriculture is one of the key challenges faced by agri-food chains in the world. Many solutions exist but their deployment at scale requires systemic and innovative approaches. The CSA Booster Flagship initiated in 2014 has started to develop a framework and an open-innovation platform to address this issue. The session will examine what are key challenges of CSA solution deployment? What can we learn from other initiatives? How can we better connect this to other similar programmes?
This workshop will be an interactive working session with the aim to build synergies between Climate-KIC’s and other actors’ initiatives in this field, identify important gaps and develop new ideas for projects and programmes that can help to accelerate the much needed adaptation services market.
Workshop: 13:30 – 15:00 (CET) on Tuesday 8 November 2016
