On 26 October CSA Booster held the latest in a series of its climate-smart agriculture webinars – “Alternative Manure Management“. The webinar series is hosted by the Californian Department of Food and Agriculture, the University of California – Davis, the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology’s Climate KIC partnership, and Wageningen University and Research.
A key strand of EIT Climate-KIC’s CSA Booster is to harness climate-smart innovation to drive considerable reductions of GHG from today’s animal husbandry systems. Previous CSA webinars are hosted on the Californian Department of Food and Agriculture website and have covered topics including greenhouse horticulture, dairy farming, soil management and saline agriculture.
The webinar covered policy, business and technology perspectives and practices relating to Alternative Manure Management (AMM) and brought together experts from the scientific community, policy makers and regulators and the private industry to discuss advances in AMM practices with applicability in both CA and The Netherlands.
