EIT Climate-KIC supported Ÿnsect raises €110 million, becoming global leader in alternative protein

Ÿnsect announced yesterday that it has raised €110 million through a variety of investors based in France, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Singapore. The EIT Climate-KIC supported company manufactures insect products used to make pet food, as well as ingredients for aquaculture and plants.

CSAb launches popular climate-smart agriculture online course in German, French and Chinese

On 24 September 2018, the University of Reading, EIT Climate-KIC and other CSA Booster partners, launched the world’s first MOOC on climate-smart agriculture in three additional languages: German, French and Chinese, to reach thousands more students in geographies impacted by climate change. The 10-hour, three-week course is free and available to anyone with an internet connection. It features some of Europe’s leading CSA experts and institutions and offers practical insights into the dairy and viticulture sectors.

Swiss sustainability consultancy Quantis has launched a two-year project, supported by EIT Climate-KIC, to develop a commodity monitoring tool that, for the first time ever, will determine the spatially-sensitive geo-footprint of major commodities by converging Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) datasets with spatial data from geographic information systems (GIS) – an innovation that could significantly improve the sustainablility of commodity supply chains around the globe.

2018 Future of Farming course starts (CSA MOOC)

Our CSA MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) 'The Future of Farming' developed by the University of Reading on FutureLearn runs again from 5th March 2018. Over 5,000 participants have already taken the course since it launched in January, 2017. It will be made available in French, German and Chinese from 2018.
