Launch of EU Stakeholder Bioeconomy Manifesto in Brussels (14-17 November)

The bioeconomy was the hot topic in Brussels in mid-November. The week saw the publication of two important documents: a review of Europe’s 2012 bioeconomy strategy and a Manifesto on Bioeconomy prepared by a stakeholder panel, on which Director Daniel Zimmer has represented EIT Climate-KIC since May 2016. Daniel is on the Steering Committee of the CSA Booster.

Urban Food focus at Climate Innovation Summit 2017, Milan

On 30 October 2017, EIT Climate-KIC held its annual Climate Innovation Summit at the Fabbrica del Vapore (Steam Factory) in Milan, Italy. The expert conversations and pitches involved several CSA-related partners and topics including urban food, urban agriculture, forestry and bio-mimicry.

CSA Webinar: EU & US perspectives & practices on Alternative Manure Management (AMM)

On 26 October 2017, CSA Booster held a webinar exploring policy, business and technology perspectives and practices relating to Alternative Manure Management (AMM). It is the latest in a series of CSA webinars co-hosted by the Californian Department of Food and Agr​iculture, the University of California - Davis, the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, the EIT Climate KIC partnership, and Wageningen University and Research.

Bioeconomy Stakeholder Panel Meeting – October

Last week, EIT Climate-KIC Director Daniel Zimmer attended the 7th meeting of the Bioeconomy Stakeholder Panel which convenes around 29 European organisations engaged different aspects of the bioeconomy in its broadest sense, such as producing biomass from agriculture, forestry, fisheries or converting it into bio-based products.

EIT Climate-KIC supports a new Manifesto for the Bioeconomy launching on 16 November 2017, published by DG Research & Innovation.
